Elmo
struggles to get the door open to show the viewers what he is thinking about.
He pulls and pulls, but it opens up by itself. It’s the same with closing it.
Dorothy’s Question
Elmo says
that Dorothy’s mouth opens and closes her mouth too. Then she wants to know,
how you open a backpack. She has got a backpack in her fishbowl too which is
closed up.
The Noodle Family
Mr.
Noodle’s mouth is wide open when the Shade opens because he is yawning. Then he
is closing his mouth again. He tries to open a backpack, but struggles to do
so. So the kids and Elmo are coaching him through until he finally gets it open
with a toy snake springing out of the backpack into Mr. Noodle’s face.
Kids and Baby
Two kids
show Dorothy how they open a book bag and a backpack. Then, Elmo is asking a
baby how it opens up a pencil case but it just puts it in its mouth.
Elmo’s question
Elmo asks
the viewers how many hamsters you need to open a door. He counts three hamsters
to open the door and one Elmo to close it again.
Video E-Mail
Elmo gets
an E-Mail from Super Grover, who is trying to show Elmo how to open things when
suddenly, his helmet closes. He struggles to get it open until he bumps into
Herry, who helps him to open his helmet again.
Quiz
Drawer
refuses to open for Elmo so Elmo pulls the knob with his whole strength until
he gets tossed back. A trash can, can open up, but Oscar, who is in the can,
wants it closed and tells the viewer to scram.

friend Tyler opens a lot of things when he draws a picture in school, like glue
or paint or markers.
TV Cartoon
Elmo tunes
in on the Open and Close channel, where the Tulip Lady shows us, how a tulip
can open when the sun is out, and how it can close at night time. She also
sings a song about it.
Interview
Elmo talks
to a book, which opens and closes itself. It opens a pop up of a construction
crane that has a jaw attachment on it that you can open and close.
Tickle Me Land
Dorothy
imagines Elmo as a construction worker in a crane who is picking up a Teddy
Bear with a claw by opening and closing it. He also opens up a Jack-in-the-box.
Then the
book and Elmo sing the open and close song together and Sesame Street Elmo’s
World Open and Close ends.
