SCENES: Alan is preparing a salad for Gordon in Hooper’s Store. Suddenly the ground shakes and through the window comes a dinosaur. Alan can’t believe what he’s seeing.
The dinosaur eats the salad that Alan places by the window. The dinosaur introduces himself as Herb (Herbivore the Plant Easter) and Alan greets him.
After Herb leaves Gordon is here. Alan explains to him that the dinosaur Herb ate his salad. Gordon can not believe it.
Rosita and Zoe are arguing over a doll, Herb swings his neck overhead. Herb introduces himself and he says he knows a solution for this problem but Zoe believes that they might get hurt with this solution. Her idea is taking turns. She explains to Herb about it and he sings "You Learn Something New Every Million Years".
Big Bird, Elmo, and four Birdketeers are singing "The Alphabet Song" in Big Bird’s nest. As Herb comes Elmo asks if dinosaurs can sing the song too. Big Bird says that dinosaurs are extinct.
Herb introduces himself and explains that he and his cousin Shirley are the lone surviving dinosaurs on Earth. But he hasn’t seen his cousin in 150 million years. After the Birdketeers explain to Herb what the alphabet is, they sing the song together. Herb wants to learn more things and he walks off.
Oscar is giving his elephant Fluffy a bath. Slimey wants to play with Oscar but he is too busy. Maria asks Slimey why he looks so sad. Then Herb comes and Oscar suggests that Slimey can play with the dinosaur. Slimey climbs on Herb’s neck and he is very happy. Maria can not believe that she is seen as a dinosaur.
As Maria tells about the dinosaur Gordon refuses to believe her. But Big Bird and Alan have seen him too. Finally, Gordon sees Herb walking with Slimey riding on his back!
Animation: Two figures are playing basketball.
Film: Some children demonstrate up and down with their balls.
The Letter of the Day: W. Cookie Monster doesn’t want to eat the letter cookie. He tries to stop himself, naming words that begin with the letter W. Prairie Dawn walks by but Cookie doesn’t notice her. Finally, he eats the cookie!
Film: Some W forms spin around in accompaniment to a song.
Cartoon: Wacky Wild Waldo dances with a wilting white lotus.
Film: Some kids are flying and they are forming the letter W.

Insert: Miles, Zoe, Baby Bear, Elmo, three children, and four Anything Muppets are singing about "The Breakfast Club."

Caveperson Days: Caveman Ernie is the son of Caveman Bert. Caveman Bert tells Caveman Ernie to take out the trash. Ernie uses his drum as a wastebasket and he can take several pieces of garbage to the dump at once.
Cartoon: The mistress of a cat is on the phone and the cat tries to open a can of cat food by himself. Animation by Dan Haskett.
Cartoon: "This is the Game Today"
Cartoon: Hop, shake your head and swing like an elephant.
Cartoon: It's a party line!
Global Grover: Grover was in Puerto Rico. He comes back with an instrument made from a piece of fruit: a guiro. He has a film that Aniba makes a guiro from a marimbo. Grover tries to play also a watermelon but it doesn’t work.
The Number of the Day: 0. Count wants to count the number of the day but his organ disappears. Count, realizes that the number of the day is zero. He has now zero organs!
Film: A man wants to demonstrate "zero dancer". He breakdances around the number 0 and disappearing.
Song: "Zero Song": A female voiceover sings a song. This is a song about the food that keeps being taken away to make 0. Artist: Jane Aaron
Film: The Count (in voiceover) subtracts from five to one to zero children on a park bench.
Elmo's World: Dinosaurs
The Adventures of Trash Gordon: Chapter 538: Trash Gordon is pretending to be a kitty cat and he scares away a giant grumpy guppy. Sesame Street Episode 4113 (season 37) ends.
