Sesame Street Episode 4173 Abby thinks Oscar is a prince

Sesame Street Episode 4173
Abby thinks Oscar is a prince
Season 39 (2008)

In this episode's street scene, Abby Cadabby listens to Chris reading "The Frog Prince" and becomes fascinated by the idea that a frog could be an enchanted prince. As she walks down Sesame Street, she wonders if someone on the street could be a prince. When she sees Oscar the Grouch, she gets the idea that he may be an enchanted prince.

In Abby's imagination, she tells a fairy tale about Oscar's origin. He was once a handsome, kind prince who received trashy treasures from his subjects until a Fairy Grouchmother witnessed this and, disgusted, turned him into a Grouch. Back in reality, Abby believes it's her duty to kiss Oscar and make him a prince again. She tells Oscar she's going to kiss him, but he resists. He shuts his trash can lid, puts on a protective mask, hangs a "No Kissing" sign, and announces that his trash can is now a no-kissing zone.

Abby poofs herself into Oscar's trash can, attempting to find him in the dark. Instead, she ends up smooching his pets. Fearing he may be next, Oscar bounces on his trampoline and sky-rockets out of his trash can, crashing in front of Hooper's Store. There, he asks Chris for a disguise so Abby won't recognize him and kiss him. Abby poofs herself to Hooper's and sees a green man who goes by the name of James Bond, but she recognizes him as Oscar.

Chris suggests that Oscar let Abby kiss him because if nothing happens to him, Abby will see she's wrong. Abby checks her breath and kisses Oscar, but he remains the same. Abby is disappointed, and Chris explains that the frog in the story was a fairy tale frog, and most frogs are just regular frogs who like it that way. Oscar expresses his desire to be a Grouch in a song, "I Don't Wanna Be a Prince." Abby doesn't mind, as she loves Oscar anyway and begins chasing him for a hug.

The episode begins with the Word on the Street: Disguise. In a Celebrity/Muppets segment, Jack Black wears various disguises to fool Elmo, but Elmo sees through them each time, until he meets a chicken with Jack's facial hair.

A cartoon segment presents parts of a face being drawn in black on-screen before forming a complete picture. In a parody of The Tonight Show, Big Bird introduces Snuffy, who will present the letter B on his back. However, Big Bird sees no B, until he spots Slimey on Snuffy's back, wearing a hat with a B on it. A film titled "B is for Bubble" (remake) is featured, followed by a cartoon where the citizens of Begonia Park have the blues until a bus with flying Bs arrives. The Bs make everyone happy with some foods that start with B.

Keb Mo sings "Everybody Be Yo'Self" with the Sesame Street cast. Big Bird presents Snuffy, who will wear a banner with a 17 on it. Big Bird sees no 17 on Snuffy's banner until Snuffy turns around and shows it on the other side. In a cartoon segment, Rap #17 is featured, followed by an animation titled "Growing Numbers #17."

In "Murray Has a Little Lamb," Murray's lamb, Ovejita, leads him to another secret escuela. His clues this time are una pala (shovel), tierra (dirt), and vegetales (vegetables). The school is revealed to be a gardening school, where Murray learns how to grow and take care of plants. In another segment, kids perform the Veggie Dance, expressing their love for vegetables.

In the Muppets segment "Elmo's World: Skin," Elmo explores the topic of skin. The episode ends with the sponsors being announced.

Sesame Street Episode 4169 Telly the Tiebreaker

Sesame Street Episode 4169
Telly the Tiebreaker
Season 39 (2008)

In this episode's street scene, Alan serves some customers drinks at Hooper's Store and hears arguing outside. Zoe, Rosita, and Devon want to put a square on their block tower, while Elmo and Dylan want a circle. Alan solves their problem by having them take a vote. The square gets the most votes, so they put it on top and use the circle as the swimming pool.

Rosita and the two kids leave, leaving Zoe and Elmo alone. They both decide to pass the time by singing a song. Zoe wants to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," but Elmo opts for "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." They decide to take a vote on which song, but end in a tie. Zoe points out they had more people last time, so they leave to get more voters.

Zoe returns with Rocco and Elmo comes back with Dorothy. Zoe and Rocco vote for "Twinkle, Twinkle," and Elmo and Dorothy vote for "Row, Row, Row," which still results in a tie. They call Alan for help, and he points out that to settle the tie, they'll need a tiebreaker.

Telly strolls in singing a song. They give him the deal and make him the tiebreaker. He has a hard time choosing which song to vote for, so he makes them convince him which one to vote for. Zoe and Elmo go out of their way to persuade Telly to vote for each of their songs by promising outlandish ways of performing the song. Zoe promises that they could sing it on a pogo stick or on a swinging star with a chicken. Elmo claims they can sing his song on a pogo stick on a boat and in a boat with a hula-dancing pig. Telly can't decide which one to vote for and wishes he had an easier choice, like The Triangle Dance (where you dance with a triangle). Zoe and Elmo (plus their pets) think the dance sounds interesting and take a vote on it. They all vote to do the dance, and it's unanimous! A triangle whooshes in, and they all do The Triangle Dance.

The episode kicks off with a song called "Vote Song." LL Cool J, Elmo, and Abby Cadabby try to show "unanimous" by agreeing to go somewhere, but Oscar intervenes and disagrees with them, making it not unanimous. They turn the tables on him by all agreeing to not go anywhere too, and then when Oscar changes his mind, they agree with him again.

In an animation segment, a mother and daughter walk through a park, and after coming home, the child draws a picture of the things she saw there. Elmo, Zoe, and a letter A vote to see a film about the letter A. In another film, two women form the letter A while doing yoga. Dr. Grover, alphabet specialist, reassembles an injured letter "A" that has had an accident in a Muppets segment.

A clay animation orange sings "One Fine Face" as fruit forms her features. In "Murray Has a Little Lamb," Murray's lamb gives him clues to the secret school they're visiting, which turns out to be an Irish Step Dancing School. Murray struggles to learn how to kick but eventually manages to do a jig with practice.

A cartoon titled "Hop, Hop and Shake Your Head and Wriggle Like An Octopus" is featured. The two monsters vote on seeing a film about the number 9, but said number says otherwise and wishes to see a film about sheep. They compromise and watch a film about 9 and sheep. In another film, kids in Jamaica play bongo drums.

Ernie and Bert appear in a segment where Ernie sings "I Love My Room" about all the things he can do in his room, which is also Bert's room. "Elmo's World: Building Things" is another Muppets segment in the episode.

Sesame Street Episode 4184 The Cookie Touch

Sesame Street Episode 4184
The Cookie Touch
Season 39 (2008)

In this episode's street scene, Cookie Monster visits Hooper's Store and asks Chris for a cookie. After finishing the cookie and asking for another, Chris informs him that there are no more cookies left but assures him there will be more tomorrow. Cookie Monster laments to the viewer about the difficulty of being a Cookie Monster and always having to wait for cookies, wishing he never had to wait again.

At the mention of the word "wish," a giant cookie floats from the sky, revealing The Cookie Fairy (Sandra Oh), who grants Cookie Monster's wish by giving him the power of "The Cookie Touch." Everything Cookie Monster touches now turns into a cookie. He tests his new power on Chris' sponge, which indeed becomes a cookie. Excited, Cookie Monster sets off to find more things to touch and eat.

As Cookie Monster explores, he turns various objects into cookies, including a hat and a newspaper. He then decides to use his power to make his friends happy. However, when he turns Telly Monster's favorite triangle and Big Bird's dinosaur book into cookies, his friends become upset.

Returning to Hooper's Store, Cookie Monster is disappointed when his tuna sandwich turns into a cookie. He realizes he can never eat anything but cookies again. Despite this, he believes he made his friends happy. However, Telly and Big Bird confront Cookie Monster, feeling sad and angry. They demand their belongings be returned to their original state. In the process, Cookie Monster accidentally turns Chris into a cookie and wishes he hadn't made his initial wish.

The Cookie Fairy reappears and takes away Cookie Monster's power, returning everything and everyone, including Chris, back to normal. Relieved, Cookie Monster runs home to eat his mom's homemade lasagna. The Cookie Fairy, now hungry, wishes for a tuna sandwich, which Chris serves her, making her believe he's The Tuna Fairy.

The episode includes a film in which a girl demonstrates how to make oatmeal cookies. Jessica Alba appears in a celebrity segment, where she finds a pizza, fruit salad, and even a talking cake to be scrumptious. A lively song called "Do the Fruit Dance!" is performed, teaching kids about different fruits and encouraging them to dance.

Big Bird reads the "Letter of the Day" book to Connor and Tiffany, leading to an animated segment featuring "Big R and Little R." Leaves form the shape of the letter R in a separate cartoon segment. In "Murray Has a Little Lamb," Murray's lamb gives him clues to the secret school they're visiting, which turns out to be an Irish Step Dancing School. Murray struggles to learn how to kick but eventually manages to do a jig with practice.

A cartoon titled "Move to the Beat" features a girl dancing with a tiger, showcasing different dance moves. Big Bird then reads the "Number of the Day" book, leading to a rap song about the number 7 and a film segment where seven kids dance on a playground to the same beat.

In "Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures," Bert and Ernie find themselves in an Arabian village. They encounter Gina, a rabbit genie who grants them three wishes. After a series of mishaps, they call for Gina to return everything to normal. In another film segment, a boy demonstrates how sushi is made.

Elmo's World focuses on mouths, teaching viewers about the different functions and features of the mouth. Big Bird finishes reading "Hey Diddle Diddle" and reads the episode's sponsors from another book titled "One of My Favorite Books."

Sesame Street Episode 4165 Firefly show

Sesame Street Episode 4165
Firefly show
Season 39 (2008)
Jenny McCarthy and Aaron Neville visit Sesame Street.

In this street scene segment, Chris welcomes the viewer to Sesame Street as he closes Hooper's Store at dusk. He listens to the nighttime sounds and encounters Telly and Baby Bear, who are trying to catch fireflies with a net and a jar. As Chris goes home, Telly and Baby Bear ask the viewer to help them spot any fireflies they see.

While Telly and Baby Bear continue their firefly search, they come across Gina leading Big Bird, Abby Cadabby, and Super Chicken in a wing exercise called "wingercise." Telly and Baby Bear decide to sit and watch, noticing the firefly joining in the exercise. They attempt to catch it with their net but accidentally catch Gina instead.

Next, Telly and Baby Bear approach Maria, Luis, and some kids sitting on the steps. They ask if anyone has seen the firefly, inspiring Luis to play "Fly Little Firefly, Fly." Maria introduces the Spanish word for firefly, "luciernaga," and everyone practices saying it. Once the song ends, Telly and Baby Bear resume their firefly chase.

The chase leads them to the front of the laundromat, where Telly comes up with an idea to use a flashlight to attract the firefly. The plan works, but they notice that the captured firefly appears sad and dim. Leela encounters them and, rather than explicitly telling them why the firefly is sad, suggests they pretend to be fireflies trapped in a jar. They realize that there's not much room to fly in a jar and decide to set the firefly free.

After Leela goes home, Telly and Baby Bear discover that pretending to be fireflies is more fun than catching them. They sing the "Firefly Song" again, enjoying their newfound appreciation for the creatures. In a later scene, Chris realizes that he forgot to show the letter of the day. The fireflies come to the rescue, forming the letter F for him.

In the final scene, Chris chats with six fireflies, who form the number of the day, 6. As nighttime falls, Chris announces the sponsors, with the fireflies displaying them once again.

The episode begins with a catchy song called "I'm a Little Airplane," accompanied by a film of kids pretending to be airplanes. Jenny McCarthy appears in a segment, explaining what an insect is and even pretending to be some insects, ultimately attracting a bee. An animation follows, featuring a red insect that wants to play with some green insects.

Chris, with the help of fireflies, presents the letter of the day, F. Two segments highlight the letter F: an animation of Fs found on a city street, and a film of a big F emerging from a swimming pool. Ernie and Aaron Neville perform a heartfelt duet of "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon." A boy reads his poem, "Night," in sign language.

The number of the day, 6, is presented in three segments: Chris chatting with six fireflies, a film of six kids dancing on a playground, and a rap song about the number 6. In "Murray Has a Little Lamb," Murray's lamb, Ovejita, leads him to a secret gymnastics school where kids do various exercises.

Cecille sings "The Game of Make Believe" in a delightful animation segment. The Muppets perform "Pre-School Musical," a parody of High School Musical, where students at a preschool learn to take turns. Finally, Elmo's World focuses on bugs, teaching viewers about these fascinating creatures.

Then the doctor moves a little puppet in front of me and I followed it with my eyes. Then she used something called a Retina scope to look in my eyes. It has a bright light. The doctor wanted to make sure that I could see colors so I had to find a colored shape in a book. After that she used a different light to look into my eyes to make sure they're growing okay. Then she put drops in my eyes, it didn't hurt but it surprised me a bit. Then the eye exam was over but the doctor said I needed glasses to see better. Telly's new shoes
Season 39 (2008)
Neil Patrick Harris, Lorena and Lorna Feijóo visit Sesame Street

In Episode 4162 of Sesame Street, the street scenes begin with Chris welcoming the viewers while a hungry customer contemplates whether to have soup or salad. As Chris is about to eat his salad, Abby Cadabby appears, causing the salad to fly out of his hands and land on the customer's head. Abby shows off her new shoes from the Shoe Fairy, explaining that shoes are special to her because fairies don't usually wear them. When Telly arrives without shoes, Abby encourages him to make a "shoe wish" for the Fairy Shoeperson to grant.

The Fairy Shoeperson (played by Neil Patrick Harris) appears and sings a song while magically putting various types of shoes on everyone on Sesame Street. Telly asks the Fairy Shoeperson to surprise him with any pair of shoes. He first receives running shoes, which help him run but not stop. Next, he gets ballet shoes that make him pirouette uncontrollably. The Fairy Shoeperson then gives Telly a pair of elevator shoes that lift him higher and higher. Frustrated, the Fairy Shoeperson disappears, and Telly is left without shoes once again. Telly explains to Abby that monsters don't need shoes and they can function perfectly without them. They start playing a game of tag, and Chris comments, "Well, I guess it's true what they say - if the shoe fits, wear it. And if it doesn't... don't."

In another street scene, Gabi reveals the letter of the day, S, by showing what she wears on her feet: a sneaker, a sandal, and socks. Later, Gabi counts her toes to display the number of the day, 10. In the final street scene, Gabi showcases the sponsors on her shoes and signs off.

A film segment showcases Mr. Shoe, a beat poet, reciting a poem about shoes while footage of kids having fun with shoes plays in the background. In a Muppets and Celebrity segment, Grover demonstrates a pirouette with the help of Lorena and Lorna Feijóo, professional ballet dancers.

An animation narrated by Zoe features a ballet painting by Edgar Degas. The song "S, You're the Best" highlights the letter S, and a cartoon introduces Seymore the Snail, drawn by artist Mo Willems.

In the "Murray Has a Little Lamb" segment, Murray's lamb, Ovejita, leads him to a farm school where kids learn how to be veterinarians. A cartoon segment features a pig singing "Bein' a Pig," with a vocal track by Joe Raposo.

An "Animal Elevator" animation presents the numbers 1 through 10. In a Muppet and Kid Moment, Samara and the Count count to 10 in sign language. A film segment focuses on how muscles and bones help people move and jump.

In the Spanish Word of the Day segment, Professor Grover teaches kids where to wear a zapato (shoe). In a Muppets and Animation segment, Thomas Twiddlebug is missing a snowshoe (a paper clip) and tries to find it, but his family members use it for various purposes. Eventually, everything is back to normal, and Thomas discovers it's a sunny summer day.

The song "Exploring in Your Closet" is featured, along with an animation of black and white clothes arranging themselves in different ways and finally ending up on a boy and a girl. Lastly, the Muppets segment "Elmo's World: Getting Dressed" is included in this episode.
