Sesame Street Episode 4199
Abby gets the Sparkle Speckle Fairy Freckles
Season 40 (2009-2010)

In this episode's street scene, Elmo and Abby are playing together when Elmo and Alan notice that Abby's freckles are sparkling. Concerned, they call The Fairy Doctorperson, who diagnoses Abby with "Sparkle Speckle Fairy Freckles." This fairy illness causes a fairy's freckles to sparkle and then fall off. The Fairy Doctorperson warns them that once the freckles fall off, they have a great ability to hide. To find the freckles, they must say the magic words: "Fricka, fracka, freckle, back-a."

As they wonder when Abby's freckles will come off, the freckles suddenly fly off her face. Elmo, Abby, and Alan chase them around the yard, eventually spotting one heading into Hooper's Store. Inside the store, Chris watches in confusion as they search for the freckle. He eventually spots it sparkling on a Biondo's Nutri-Dots cereal box. They say the magic words, and the freckle flies back onto Abby's face. They continue searching for more freckles.

Next, they find Rosita finishing her flower drawing. She is also confused about what's happening but spots two sparkling dots on her picture. They say the magic words twice to retrieve both freckles. Then, at the laundromat, Mama Bear and Baby Bear are folding laundry when Alan alerts the patrons to inspect anything with small circles on them, as that's where the freckles seem to be hiding. Mama Bear finds a freckle on her son's underpants, and Leela finds one attached to her nose ring.

Finally, they spot the last freckle on a cookie that Cookie Monster is about to eat. Abby tackles him and tries to take the cookie, but he snatches it back. They quickly say the magic words before Cookie devours his treat, and Abby's final freckle restores itself on her face, making her happy once more.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck wants to explain what camouflage means, but she can't find her frog assistant. She discovers he has been camouflaged the whole time.

Murray announces it's almost time for Abby's Flying Fairy School, but first, he and the kids rap about I words. Next, Prairie Dawn hosts a game show called "American I," where contestants compete to be the best letter I. Rosita, Oscar the Grouch, and a dog serve as the judges. In a surprising twist, Prairie is crowned the winner, even though she's not a letter.

In Abby's Flying Fairy School, the class is putting on their Dance Recital. Abby, Blogg, Peck, and Niblet are all ready to dance, but Gonnigan claims he can’t dance and won’t do it in front of a crowd. Mrs. Sparklenose poofs him up special “Sugar Plum Fairy Dance Shoes,” which will help him dance. Through a series of mishaps, Gonnigan learns that he only needs his feet to dance and creates a dance that all the other students perform in the recital.

A boy narrates a film of he and his siblings attending "Deaf Dance Jam," a dance class for the hearing-impaired. Murray announces "Murray Has a Little Lamb" is coming, but first, he counts 6 of various things. Six dancers break it down in a park.

In "Murray Has a Little Lamb," Murray's lamb, Ovejita, leads him to another secret escuela with the clue of a leaf. The school turns out to be the Science and Nature program at the American Museum of Natural History, where kids learn about bugs, amphibians, and reptiles. They also learn about camouflage and go on a safari outside.

Murray gives a demonstration of near and far, followed by a cartoon where Cab Callowmouse demonstrates here and there in song. Finally, Murray and the kids introduce "Elmo's World," which focuses on the theme of doctors.
