SCENES: Big Bird gets some bananas from Alan. This is a sunny day on Sesame Street.  As he welcomes the viewer, Baby Bear interrupts him and he says that his parrot Ralphie can do it instead.

Baby Bear thinks that his parrot is very talented and he is proud of Ralphie. Ralphie can rhyme, sing, dance, and play peek-a-boo. Ralphie flies away as Baby Bear says what a great friend he is. Baby Bear looks around to find his parrot and he calls distressed Ralphie’s name. As he heard a squawk, "Welcome to Sesame Street" follows.

Baby Bear asks for help to find Ralphie. The camera moves around Sesame Street and finally, they notice Ralphie, resting in a tree.

Baby Bear is very happy that Ralphie isn’t lost. Ralphie rhymes and stays up the tree, even when Baby Bear calls him and then says please.

Baby Bear receives a magazine about the latest issue of Parroting. This is the number 1 magazine if someone wants to be an expert on parrots. He finds an article about the dance The Parrot Polka. Elmo and Zoe dress up like parrots and dance to this song but it doesn’t bring Ralphie down from the tree.

The expert's advice didn’t help to get his parrot back and Baby Bear is clueless about what to do. As Zoe asks if Ralphie is hungry, Baby Bear has the idea to lock down Ralphie with his food. Ralphie flies down but he flies past the food and out of Baby Bear’s sight.

Baby Bear thinks that he Is losing his parrot friends and his heart is broken. Alan explains to him that birds are born to fly and Ralphie is a bird too. They sing ‘’Sometimes a Bird’s Got to Fly’’.

Finally, Baby Bear accepts the fact that Ralphie is gone. But actually, this is not true. Ralphie comes back again and Baby Bear is happy and everything is right again.

Animation: "Frère Jacques" plays and some colored birds bring color to a paper world.

Celebrity: The special guest star Diane Sawyer is an expert at blowing bubbles.

The Letter of the Day: H. Cookie Monster wants to hide the letter of the day H cookie. The best place to make it is his tummy!

Film: Some floating kids are forming an H.

Cartoon: Anansi the Spider helped someday the monkey and the baboon reach a compromise and he tells this story.

Ernie & Bert: Bert is playing checkers with his pigeon, Bernice, and Ernie is confused about that. Bert thinks this is no big deal because Bernice has only beaten him two out of ten games. But Ernie finds that it’s amazing for a pigeon to play checkers.

Muppets: Abby Cadabby sings "I Love Words."

Celebrity: Trisha Yearwood wants to explain to Herry Monster how she feels when she misses her friend and she sings "I’m Talkin’Love".  Her friend is far away. Baby Bear and Grover help her sing. Harry says "Some guys have all the luck" as a Martian materializes.
