Chris greets the viewers and announces that today is a special day on Sesame Street. He reveals that it's Friendship Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the diverse friendships on the street. Nearby, Leela admires a sidewalk mural created by Telly, Rosita, and Baby Bear.

In another area, Zoe demonstrates the dance moves she has choreographed for her and Elmo's Friendship Day performance. Elmo, however, struggles to execute the moves correctly. Frustrated, Zoe calls him the worst, but quickly tries to regain her composure and continue. She doesn't notice that Elmo has already left, feeling hurt.

Zoe encounters Elmo down the street and learns that he is upset, so much so that he decides to end their friendship. Abby comes along, and Zoe explains the situation, unsure why Elmo is so hurt. Abby conjures a magical replay, allowing Zoe to see the harsh words she used. Zoe claims she didn't mean anything by calling Elmo "the worst" and decides to try and mend their friendship.

Zoe approaches Elmo again and attempts to explain that it was just a word. Elmo responds that it's a hurtful word and leaves once more. Leela and Chris sing a song to Zoe, explaining that while "sticks and stones" can break bones, words can be just as hurtful. Zoe realizes she needs to apologize.

Zoe finds Elmo and offers a heartfelt apology, assuring him that she wants him to be her friend, even if he can't perfect the dance moves. Elmo forgives her, and they become friends again. To celebrate Friendship Day, they perform their dance together, and this time, Elmo gets the moves just right!

In a "News Flash" segment, Murray reports on "Friendship Day" and explores what it means to be a friend. He interviews a pair of girls who became friends at school and learns about the word "amigo" from Ovejita. Murray also covers a heartwarming story of two Anything Muppet kids becoming friends in the park.

In "Super Grover 2.0," a duckling wants to attend a woodland party but can't cross the river without getting her new party shoes wet. Super Grover 2.0 uses his powers of scientific reasoning and engineering to help her cross the river. After a few failed attempts, they find a large log that works perfectly as a bridge. The duckling joins the party, and Super Grover decides to stay and dance with them.

Elmo and his friends introduce the letter of the day, "O," with an engaging song and dance routine.

Murray's friendship report continues as he interviews a pair of girls with similar interests and learns that friends can also like different things. Ovejita makes a new duck friend, and the two Anything Muppets discover they have opposing interests in blueberries.

In "Abby's Flying Fairy School," the students celebrate Pet Day, showcasing their pets' abilities in various competitions. Niblet, feeling left out, becomes upset. The class realizes their mistake, apologizes, and invites Niblet to join the festivities. Niblet excels at the final event, Best Dancer.

Murray's friendship report wraps up as he interviews two boys about how good friends treat each other. Ovejita makes more barnyard friends, and the boys share a story about carrying water bottles. The Anything Muppets argue over a toy plane, and Murray concludes his report.

In "Elmo the Musical: Mountain Climber the Musical," Elmo imagines himself as a mountain climber and plans to climb Mount BiggestEverest, the biggest mountain in the world. Along the way, he encounters mountain goats, a yak, and a yeti named Nettie. Together, they reach the top of the mountain and perform the "BiggestEverest Finale."

Sesame Street Episode 4517 appears as the 17th episode of the 45th season. The name of the Episode is Elmo the Grouch.

What's the Word on the Street? : In Sesame Street Episode 4517 we see the word Grouchy.

What's the Word on the Street. In Sesame Street Episode 4517 we see the word Grouchy.

In the street scene segments of Episode 4517, Chris welcomes the viewer as he carries a stack of boxes to Hooper's Store. He bumps into Elmo and invites him to the park after work, but Elmo grumpily declines. Elmo apologizes and claims he doesn't feel like himself today; he's feeling a bit cranky and grouchy. Oscar pops up from his trash can with a theory: Elmo's turning into a Grouch! Chris tells Elmo that's not possible and heads over to work.

Oscar proposes there's only one way to know for sure if Elmo's a Grouch: performing "The Grouch Test." The first part is a round of "Oscar Says," where Elmo must do the opposite of what Oscar tells him (since Grouches love doing the opposite of what they're told). Elmo succeeds at the game, so Oscar officially dubs him a Grouch. He teaches Elmo the Grouch Cheer - blowing a raspberry.

Elmo does the Grouch Cheer over and over, attracting Chris' attention. Chris reminds Elmo he's not a Grouch, but Elmo still feels a bit grumpy. Chris tells him to repeat a phrase - "I am not a Grouch" - before heading back to work.

Oscar appears again, telling Elmo the only way to know for sure if he's a Grouch is through part two of the Grouch Test. In the second part (titled "Grouch Eye View"), Elmo looks at parts of Grouchy animals close-up and correctly identifies which animals they are. Now that he's officially a Grouch, Elmo earns his very own trash can to live in! Oscar goes to make some anchovy sundaes, commenting, "It's great to have another Grouch in the neighborhood."

Chris is done with work and looks for Elmo, who pops up from his trash can. Chris takes him out of the can and tells him he's not a Grouch; people just have days where they don't feel happy. He explains, through song, that "Feelings Come and Feelings Go." Elmo feels less Grouchy now and wants to go to the park. Oscar is disappointed his trick didn't work and gets even angrier when Elmo gives him a goodbye kiss.

In "Cookie's Crumby Pictures presents Les Mousserables (Rated ME: For Mixed Emotions)," Cookie Monster appears as "Jean Bonbon," a French monster without cookies. He finds a jar nearby and begins munching them down. He runs into Flantine, who weeps over not being able to give her daughter a cookie. With some help from the narrator, Cookie is able to see she's sad by how she looks and acts; he doesn't, however, provide her with a cookie. He then runs into Epienine, who is jealous of Cookie's snacks. Cookie, too, blows her off. Soon, all his friends march in anger over his selfishness. Cookie soon realizes he needs to share his cookies, and they all, with some marshmallows, celebrate "One Day S'more."

Elmo and the gang introduce the letter of the day, "E," with a song and dance.

In "Abby's Flying Fairy School," Mrs. Sparklenose is teaching the students opposites today, though Blögg doesn't grasp the concept as easily. After Gonnigan and Abby demonstrate, he tries to use their opposite spell on Gonnigan but uses it on himself instead. Suddenly, Blögg becomes the opposite of himself, wearing posh clothing and being obsessed with cleanliness (constantly giving Niblet a bath). Gonnigan likes having a less-disgusting friend around now, but Opposite-Blögg ruins their playtime by putting away their blocks and refusing to wear the wrinkled costumes. Abby and Gonnigan learn that to change him back, Blögg has to do the spell on himself. Abby tempts him with his favorite stinky cheese, but he instead is frightened by it. Everyone muses about the old Blögg, making him realize the right thing to do is to change himself back.

In "Elmo the Musical: Karate Master the Musical," Elmo imagines himself as a karate master in an animal-populated village, where he can karate chop things into different shapes with a "Hop Hop, Chop Chop Chop." He lets a "young grasshopper" become his student. Soon, some villagers complain their various shapes have been ruined. The culprit is a being known as the Ooze, who destroys any shape he sees. Elmo and the Ooze meet at the octagon arena, where the Ooze wrecks all of Karate Master Elmo's shapes and even the arena. The Ooze tearfully sings that he hates shapes because he doesn't have one himself. Elmo chops up some shapes for the Ooze to go in, allowing him to be any shape he wants.

Sesame Street Episode 4516 appears as the 16th episode of the 45th season. The name of the Episode is Oscar’s Clean Tuxedo.

What's the Word on the Street? : In Sesame Street Episode 4516 we see the word Pattern.

What's the Word on the Street. In Sesame Street Episode 4516 we see the word Pattern.

In this episode's street scene segments, Elmo assists Leela at the laundromat when Oscar enters, requesting his tuxedo. Oscar claims that Grouches have their clothes dampened and grimed at laundromats. Leela returns with bad news: there was a mix-up, and she has accidentally cleaned Oscar's tuxedo jacket. Upset, Oscar storms out.

Oscar mopes at Hooper's Store, where Leela and Elmo come to apologize. Oscar explains that he had the three yuckiest stains of his life on that jacket and shares stories about how they got there. The first stain happened in high school at the Enchantment Under the Sewers Dance, where a waiter slopped mud pie on his jacket, leaving a triangle-shaped stain. The second stain came from Oscar's days as a stand-up comic at the "Yuckles" night club when the audience threw tomatoes and rotten eggs at him, creating a pattern on his sleeve. The third and final stain came on his wedding day when Grundgetta left Oscar at the altar and plopped anchovy sauce-covered onion rings on his jacket, leaving a big, bigger, and biggest stain.

Oscar finishes his stories and storms out of the store. Elmo thinks they can recreate the stains since he's remembered all the ones Oscar described. The others agree, but they need someone to wear the jacket as they apply the stains. Unfortunately for her, Leela seems to be the only one it'll fit.

First, they apply the triangle stain using a mud pie cut into a triangle shape. Chris plops it onto the jacket, leaving a perfect triangle stain. Next, Chris and Elmo prepare to pelt Leela with rotten eggs and tomatoes, but she points out there was a pattern to them. Elmo recites it as Chris throws the items at the jacket. Finally, Chris prepares some onion rings and stains the jacket with them. With the jacket complete, they head over to Oscar's.

The gang presents Oscar with the re-stained jacket, and he's amazed. Bert rides by on his bike, knocking the jacket down and adding a tire stain to it. This pleases Oscar even more, and he quietly thanks them for helping. He tells them to scram as he adds his own stains to the jacket inside his can.

Elmo and Craig Robinson demonstrate a fruit and vegetable pattern. When one element is missing, Craig steps in and substitutes as a broccoli.

In a cartoon segment, a girl goes to the store to buy a loaf of bread, container of milk, and a stick of butter, teaching children about grocery shopping and remembering items.

Cookie Monster stars in "Cookie's Crumby Pictures presents The Hungry Games: Catching Fur." Cookie-ness Evereat and his friends, including Pita (the literal bread), play another round of the Hungry Games. They solve fruit and food patterns to overcome various obstacles, only to find out there will be a third movie.

An animation segment features two groups of creatures creating a rhythm by lining up in a pattern on top of a keyboard.

Elmo and the gang introduce the letter of the day, "X," through a lively song and dance number. Cookie Monster also sings about the "X" sound in the word "X-ray."

In "Abby's Flying Fairy School," Abby, Gonnigan, and Blögg's items vanish along with Mrs. Sparklenose's wand. They encounter a Cubby Creature and must follow a pattern and guess his name to win their belongings back.

OK Go performs a song about the "Three Primary Colors," teaching children about primary colors and how they mix to create other colors.

Count von Count and friends sing and stomp to find the number of the day, which is 3. Elmo and the Harlem Globetrotters also show the number 3 in a fun and engaging way.

In a cartoon segment, a cowboy hat/boot pattern is displayed, teaching children about patterns and visual recognition.

Grover introduces his monster friends, Bill (who's tall), Phil (who's taller), and Sally (the tallest). He starts a game of "Where Did the Tallest Monster Go?" asking the viewer to find the tallest monster based on the color hat they're wearing.

In "Elmo the Musical: Airplane the Musical," Elmo imagines himself as an airplane pilot hired by a penguin bride-to-be to fly her to the South Pole for her wedding. They go on various adventures to find a ring, flowers, and bridesmaids, teaching children about problem-solving and creativity.

In this episode, Chris, Elmo, and Stinky the Stinkweed are on their way to Stinky's first day of preschool. Stinky is nervous about attending school, fearing that no one will like him. Upon arriving, Elmo introduces Stinky to his classmates and their teacher, Mrs. Sanchez. Mrs. Sanchez has prepared a special spot for Stinky with plenty of sunlight. As Chris is about to leave for work, Stinky becomes even more anxious and doesn't want Chris to go. Chris reassures Stinky that Mrs. Sanchez can take care of him just as well, but Stinky remains scared and nervous.

To help Stinky feel more at ease, Elmo suggests that Chris leave a photo of the two of them together, as Elmo's dad does for him. Since Stinky's favorite photo of him and Chris is back on Sesame Street, they decide to recreate the picture. Chris makes some makeshift superhero costumes for them, and Mrs. Sanchez takes the photo with her phone, displaying it on the computer for Stinky to see.

Despite their efforts, Stinky still struggles with the idea of Chris leaving. Elmo doesn't have any more ideas, but Chris has one last strategy. He sings a song to Stinky called "I Will Always Come Back," assuring him that he will return. Stinky finally feels calm, and Chris leaves for work. Stinky then asks Mrs. Sanchez to teach him about "this alphabet I've heard so much about."

Throughout the episode, Stinky learns to adapt to his new environment and trust that Chris will always come back for him. This heartwarming story teaches children about coping with separation anxiety and embracing new experiences.

They travel to the Enchanted Forest to find Grandpa Blögg's tree, which has a blue trunk, red door, and orange leaves. They encounter various tree-like creatures before finally finding the correct tree and joining in the Henking Dance.
