Sesame Street Bedtime with Elmo was released in 2009. As we see the tittle of the video, it is nighttime on Sesame Street, but Elmo does not want to sleep, instead of sleeping, he prefers to play. Elmo’s Daddy explains him the importance of sleeping. He expresses that everyone needs sleep. There is a soothing tale as we watch Elmo and his friends get ready for bed; Elmo's Daddy has different strategies to get Elmo to sleep. There are lullabies and a special favorite book, dreams and happy thoughts.
SCENE 1: It is nighttime, Elmo should sleep, but he does not want to it, he prefers playing. But Daddy Louie is here and does not allow him to stay up and tells him the importance of sleep and he calls Elmo in front of the window to show everybody is sleeping, their lamps are off except Ernie and Bert's lamp.
MUPPETS: Bert wants to sleep because it is night. Ernie prefers watching Bert sleep instead of sleeping. He sings a song, the song is about sleep. Finally He falls asleep.
FILM: The main theme in Sesame Street Bedtime with Elmo is sleep. In the film we see a girl who has a shower and gets ready to sleep.
CARTOON: The cartoon is about how to say good night in Haiti and India.
SCENE 2: Elmo get his favorite book. He wants his dad to read for him. The name of book is “It’s Time for Bed”. The book includes a monster who finds where he sleeps. Daddy expresses Elmo again the importance of sleep, even Monsters need sleep.
INSERT: Oscar appears on the scene while reading Slimey one of the chapters of The Adventures of Trash Gordon.
SCENE 3: Louie begins to put Elmo in his bed, but Elmo wants water and he tries to get more time before sleeping. And then he begins to say “Good night” to all the things in his room.
MUPPETS: Herry Monster and Zoe sing a song, the name of the song is Moonshine.
FILM: Sesame Street Bedtime with Elmo goes on with film part. In the film a boy is seen. He performs a poem called "Night" in sign language.
SCENE 4: Elmo is still awake, he turns in his bed. He wishes Abby was around to play with. She poofs into his room. She says she is not able to sleep either due to her scary thoughts. Elmo persuades her to think of Happy Thoughts and they sing a song about happy thoughts.
MUPPETS: Ernie is awake, too. Ernie cannot sleep, because he has fears from dark shadows and spooky things. Bert tries to comforts him, and both sing a song before falling asleep, the name of the song is Imagination.
MUPPETS: Telly sings a song, the name of the song is My Outer Space Friend. He look out the window and he thinks about space travel and his friend.
SCENE 5: When Louie overhears the voice of Abby, he surprises. He says them it is sleeping time and turns out the light that causes to fright Abby. Louie demonstrates Abby there is nothing to be afraid of in the dark. Abby thanks them and she leaves from there.
MUPPETS: Cousin Bear is at Baby Bear's house, when they sleep, Cousin Bear suddenly wakes up and sees a tree's shadow on the wall and he fears that it is the Boogey Bear. Baby Bear tries to comfort him and explains it is a shadow, there is no need to afraid, but Cousin Bear is still afraid of it. Baby Bear finds the solution that is to close window, and they can fall in sleep without afraid.
CARTOON: Sesame Street Bedtime with Elmo goes on with cartoon part. Janie and Jerome fear from of the dark. They dreams a firefly to use as a night light.
SCENE 6: Elmo wakes up again and he calls his daddy back, but this time it’s Baby David who is not able to sleep. They try to find some ways that can help David fall asleep. The first one is that counting sheep and Elmo and David close their eyes and count, but David can count only 3 sheep. He cannot count more. And then Elmo finds a new method that is a lullaby.
MUPPETS: Herry and Rosita sing a lullaby to their dolls, the name of it is Monster Lullaby.
MUPPETS: Humphrey sings a lullaby to Natasha.
SCENE 7: Elmo finishes his lullaby for David, he falls asleep. Elmo still wants to sleep, he expresses that he wants his mother and dad around all the time. Louie and Elmo sing "See You Tomorrow" and Elmo finally falls asleep. Sesame Street Bedtime with Elmo video ends there.
