Green Sesame Street Characters

Green Sesame Street characters are almost non-existent. In fact, green is a color that gives people peace and represents innovation, sharing and revival. So why were so few characters created in such a positive color? It is necessary to explain this before introducing the Green Sesame Street characters.

Kermit the Frog says "it's not easy being green" in the classic Sesame Street song "Bein' Green". Because, according to Kermit, green is a color that does not attract much attention:

"It's not easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over
'Cause you're not standing out
Like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky..."

Green Sesame Street Characters

Being green is a challenge for a muppet because children find warmer and more vibrant colors more popular. So who are the green Sesame Street characters? The characters are listed by date of first appearance on the show.

Being green is in the nature of "Stinky the Stinkweed" because he's a plant. Stinky usually appears in his flower pot, but he also appeared as a boy muppet in season 34. Stinky has a constantly tense facial expression because he stinks. However, this does not prevent him from being sympathetic and making friends.

Mr. Honker (1982)

Mr. Honker is another green character from Sesame Street. But Mr. Honker unfortunately stopped appearing in the series after the 31st season. I guess that just goes to show that being green isn't easy, as Kermit said.
