In Episode 4511 of Sesame Street, the street scenes revolve around Telly helping Alan with a pickled pepper crisis at Hooper's Store. The problem arises when Peter Piper, who was supposed to deliver the pickled peppers, shows up playing peek-a-boo instead. Peter explains that he has given up pickled pepper picking in pursuit of a purpose with more pizzaz. Telly is then recruited to pick the peppers instead.
Telly reaches the pickled pepper patch and, with a photo for comparison, successfully finds and collects enough pickled peppers for the current crowd at Hooper's Store. Meanwhile, Peter Piper returns with a new purpose - pogoing with a pair of penguins. Telly rushes back to the store, crashing into Peter and the penguins, spilling the peppers. Peter, unsatisfied with his new purpose, goes off to find another.
As more customers arrive at Hooper's Store, Alan sends Telly back to the patch with a basket to collect more pickled peppers. Telly collects more peppers, but when he returns, he is knocked over by Horatio the Elephant, who is pirouetting with Peter Piper. The peppers spill once more, and Peter runs off again to find a new purpose. The Pickled Pepper Lovers Club then shows up for lunch, and Telly believes he is not fit to pick so many peppers. He and Alan realize they need Peter Piper more than ever.
Peter parachutes from a plane, joined by a pirate and his parrot, Polly. They try to convince Peter to go back to picking peppers, showing him how popular they are. They sing a song, "Come Back Peter Piper," which convinces Peter to return to his old ways and pick enough pickled peppers for everyone at Hooper's Store.
Throughout the street scenes in this episode, the characters learn about the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and embracing one's unique skills and talents.
