In Episode 4513 of Sesame Street, the street scenes focus on Rosita and her struggle to resist opening a present Elmo has given her.
The episode begins with Alan and Leela discussing Alan's new drink creation. Elmo arrives and presents Rosita with a "just because" present. He then leaves for lunch, asking Rosita to promise not to open the present until he returns. Rosita is eager to open it and struggles to resist the temptation. The grown-ups suggest that she sits on her hands to help resist opening the box, but this strategy doesn't work for her.
Abby Cadabby appears and offers magical assistance. She casts a dancing spell to distract Rosita, but accidentally enchants Leela and Alan instead. Abby doesn't know how to reverse the spell, so she freezes them all. Realizing they don't want to remain frozen until Elmo returns, Abby unfreezes everyone.
Abby then remembers a non-magical strategy her mommy taught her: imagining the present is something else. Through a song, the gang helps Rosita imagine the present as various things she wouldn't want to touch, such as a porcupine, a crocodile, and an ice block.
Despite the strategy, Rosita still can't resist opening the box. Just as she's about to do so, she stops herself, realizing that opening the present without waiting for Elmo would hurt his feelings. She decides to wait for Elmo to return, which he does shortly after. Rosita opens the box to find a clay sculpture of her and Elmo hugging, which she thinks is the best present ever. Alan calls for a celebration, and they all dance together.
